Jakarta, Indonesia – December 9, 2024 — GRG Metrology & Test Group Co., LTD (GRG TEST)and the Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta, marking a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation in the fields of standardization, certification, and technical services. The signing ceremony was attended by Donny Purnomo, Executive Deputy Head and Secretary General of BSN; Wahyu Purbowasito, Deputy Head for Accreditation and Secretary General of BSN; Yang Wenfeng, Chairman of GRG TEST; Shi Zongfei, Board Secretary; and Assistant General Managers Peng Yan and Wang Qingdong.

In recent years, trade between China and Indonesia has become increasingly frequent, with bilateral trade volumes continuing to rise. As Indonesia’s highest official authority in standardization and conformity assessment, BSN develops and oversees the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), a mandatory product certification system similar to China’s CCC certification. SNI certification is essential for products to legally enter the Indonesian market.

According to the MoU, both parties will work together to promote the awareness and adoption of SNI standards and certification in the Chinese market, strengthen economic and technological exchanges between China and Indonesia, and cooperate in areas such as standard sharing and co-development, standard promotion and services, technical exchange and training, market research and collaborative studies, as well as standardization and trade facilitation.

In particular, in the area of standard promotion and services, GRG Test will leverage its technical strengths in high-end equipment, aviation, new energy, rail transportation, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and software & information services to provide necessary technical support to BSN in developing relevant product standards. The company will also assist in promoting the SNI certification system, support Chinese companies’ investments in Indonesia, and help Indonesian specialty products enter the Chinese market. Additionally, both sides will jointly explore the feasibility and cooperation models for providing one-stop services—including pre-certification assessment, calibration, verification, testing, and technical consulting—for clients in both China and Indonesia.

This agreement marks another important step in GRG Test’s international expansion, following its recent strategic partnership with the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association. During the visit, the company’s team also conducted research on Indonesia’s new energy vehicle industry and the inspection, testing, and certification market, laying a solid foundation for accelerated overseas development.

Looking ahead, GRG Test will continue to actively support the Belt and Road Initiative by providing high-quality and efficient services, further deepening cooperation in the field of conformity assessment. The company is committed to offering convenient quality certification services to more enterprises, helping Chinese companies expand globally, and contributing to the sustained and healthy development of bilateral trade between China and Indonesia.
